In collaboration with the Central Bank of the UAE
The Ministry of Community Empowerment Delivers a Series of Financial Literacy Awareness Workshops
- The workshops strengthen participants' ability to manage their financial resources and commitments and to develop their projects efficiently and sustainably
- 100 beneficiaries, including workforce joiners and Emirati family entrepreneurs, in the first phase
The Ministry of Community Empowerment, in collaboration with the Central Bank of the UAE, has delivered a series of training programs and workshops as part of an integrated track to promote financial literacy, a key pillar of social and economic empowerment. The first phase targeted 100 participants from two groups: entrepreneurs from Emirati families, and workforce joiners benefiting from the Social Welfare Program. The sessions were held at the Ministry's Customer Happiness Centres across the UAE.
The track is designed to address the specific needs of each beneficiary group. It helps workforce joiners build the skills needed to manage their financial resources and obligations, plan for future needs, and make informed financial decisions. It also equips entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools required to plan, grow, and manage their projects efficiently and sustainably.
Promoting Financial Literacy and Economic Empowerment
The Ministry of Community Empowerment affirms that the partnership with the Central Bank of the UAE reflects the integration of national efforts to build a more aware and future-ready society. The Ministry emphasises that financial literacy is a key tool for empowerment, enabling individuals and families to make informed decisions with greater confidence, strengthen their financial stability, and create opportunities for sustainable growth, while reinforcing their role as active partners in the nation’s development.
The Ministry, in collaboration with its partners, will continue to deliver qualification and training programs and expand their reach to as many entrepreneurs, Emirati families, and beneficiaries capable to work as possible. This will strengthen their ability to make informed financial decisions and support their shift towards greater economic independence and financial stability.
The training program, delivered by trainers accredited by the Central Bank of the UAE, covered a range of topics including budgeting, financial and personal planning, saving and investment, credit and debt, and financial consumer protection in the UAE. This strengthens participants' ability to manage their financial resources efficiently, plan for their future needs, and develop their projects.
Supporting Professional Empowerment and Economic Independence Tracks
The workshops are delivered as part of the National Financial Literacy Strategy, with the aim of building awareness of essential financial concepts and principles and strengthening beneficiaries’ ability to make informed, responsible, and sustainable financial decisions. They also build on the Ministry's efforts under the social empowerment program "Madar", which aims to empower social welfare beneficiaries and help them move from receiving support to becoming productive, active contributors to the national economy by developing their capabilities and creating sustainable tracks to work and production, thereby enhancing financial and family stability.
