The Ministry of Community Empowerment Organizes a Co-Design Workshop to Enhance Job Readiness for Social Support Program Beneficiaries
In collaboration with the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation

Dubai – Ministry of Community Empowerment – February 2025
The Ministry of Community Empowerment, in collaboration with the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation (AGF), hosted a workshop titled “Co-Designing a Social Welfare Program to Enhance Job Readiness”. The session brought together stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that align with job opportunities with beneficiaries’ skills and capabilities, strengthening pathways to employment. This initiative is part of the ongoing partnership between the Ministry and AGF to improve economic empowerment and social mobility, reinforcing community cohesion and stability.
The workshop was attended by H.E. Noor Abu Al-Houl, Assistant Undersecretary Social Welfare & Empowerment Sector at the Ministry, and Mona Ghander, Vice President of Partnerships and Programs at AGF, alongside government officials, social specialists, and program beneficiaries.
The event featured two panel discussions exploring key employment challenges and in-demand job market skills, the role of government, civil society, and the private sector in supporting job seekers, and innovative employment solutions and strategies to enhance job readiness.
Beneficiaries actively participated, sharing firsthand experiences on job hunting, career development platforms, and the impact of programs like Nafis. The discussions also covered the role of professional training programs and ways to increase access to relevant skill-building opportunities.
The Ministry emphasized its commitment to empowering social welfare beneficiaries by equipping them with skills that lead to financial independence and sustainable income sources. Through strategic partnerships, the Ministry is developing structured training and employment programs tailored to participants’ health, social, and professional readiness—aligning with the UAE’s national vision to enhance Emirati family welfare and long-term economic resilience.
