During the World Governments Summit 2026 The Ministry of Community Empowerment Signs MoU with Singapore’s Ministry of Social and Family Development to Enhance Cooperation in Social Services

The Ministry of Community Empowerment signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Social and Family Development of the Republic of Singapore to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in the field of social services. The agreement also aims to expand joint collaboration on initiatives that support community empowerment in both countries. The signing took place on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit 2026, hosted in Dubai from 3 to 5 February under the theme “Shaping Future Governments.”
The signing ceremony was attended by Her Excellency Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Empowerment, and His Excellency Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for Social and Family Development of the Republic of Singapore, in the presence of the ministry undersecretaries, senior officials, and experts in community and social development.
The Memorandum of Understanding focuses on strengthening coordination and exchanging best practices in social development and community empowerment. Areas of cooperation include social assistance, social mobility, and inclusive growth, as well as the development and implementation of joint programs and initiatives that support a comprehensive community empowerment ecosystem. The MoU also facilitates collaboration in other relevant areas of mutual interest within the respective mandates of both parties, subject to agreed frameworks and mechanisms.
The agreement reflects the strong and longstanding relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Singapore across various sectors, particularly in advancing social development systems and enhancing cooperation. It supports ongoing efforts to improve quality of life for all segments of society and contributes to sustainable development and shared progress in both countries.
