The Ministry of Community Empowerment(MoCE), in collaboration with the ‘Mohammed Bin Rashid Leadership Development Program’, and the ‘UAE Government Leaders Program’, launched the initiative ‘Non- Profit Organizations (NPOs) Sector Track, under the UAE Government Leadership Programs.’
The initiative, which is part of the volunteering and community engagement ecosystem, aims to prepare and empower future leaders by equipping them with essential knowledge and expertise about the NPOs sector, and its vital role as a key partner in various fields of development and empowerment in the UAE.
Through this initiative, which saw the participation of 45 members enrolled in leadership development programs, the MoCE seeks to enhance the awareness of emerging government leaders about the importance of partnerships with NPOs. It aims to empower them to engage constructively with this vital sector and to develop innovative solutions to address the challenges it faces, thereby contributing to sustainable community impact.
The initiative, which was attended by H.E. Shamma bint Sohail Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Empowerment, and a number of officials and leaders from government entities and NPOs, included several themes. Among these are: An overview of the initiative’s objectives, the Ministry’s strategy and vision for the NPOs sector, and discussions on the sector’s key challenges and prospects for enhancing cooperation and integration between government entities, the private sector, and the NPOs.
The initiative also featured interactive sessions that provided participants with the opportunity to engage with leaders from the government, business, and NPOs sectors, and to explore avenues for collaboration among them, and their complementary roles in achieving long-term positive impact.
By discussing case studies inspired by the Emirati landscape, participants gained a practical understanding of the non-profit sector's evolution, challenges, and opportunities. They also developed innovative solutions and methods to enhance partnerships and the ecosystem of collaborative action.
It is essential to mention that the MoCE continues to promote and reinforce the values of giving and shared responsibility, leading to the integration and unification of national efforts to build a community ecosystem with a positive and active impact. This is in alignment with its strategy, which is consistent with the government’s directions in the process of sustainable development and empowerment.
