Commitment to the National Digital Accessibility Policy

As part of its commitment to empowering all segments of society, the Ministry of Community Empowerment is implementing the National Digital Accessibility Policy to ensure inclusive and seamless access to digital services for all members of the community, especially People of Determination and senior citizens.

The Ministry places great importance on ensuring that its digital portal includes features and functionalities that enable users—regardless of their background or abilities—to access information and services with ease and efficiency. This reflects its commitment to achieving digital inclusivity and upholding the principles of fairness and equality in delivering government services.
Through these efforts, the Ministry embodies the UAE’s vision of building an inclusive society free from barriers by improving the readiness and usability of digital services. The Ministry also aligns with the ongoing transition toward a connected digital government by leveraging advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital systems to deliver effective, flexible services that meet the needs of priority groups.

Standards of the National Digital Accessibility Policy

The Ministry of Community Empowerment currently achieves partial compliance with the global Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2 – Level AA) and continues to work diligently to implement the necessary improvements across its digital platforms to achieve full compliance. This enhances the inclusivity and accessibility of its services for all segments of society.

Ongoing Efforts to Achieve Digital Accessibility

The Ministry continues to enhance the readiness of its digital channels by upgrading its websites and smart applications through regular updates, specialized technical testing, and incorporating user feedback and experience.
Although partial compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA standards has been achieved, the Ministry remains committed to attaining full compliance to ensure a seamless, safe, and inclusive digital experience that reflects its values of fairness and equality for all

The website adheres to global web standards, ensuring clear structure, intuitive navigation, and easy access to information and services.
 

Text-to-Speech:
The "Listen to this page" feature helps users with visual impairments or reading difficulties and is available at the top right of each page.
 

Screen Magnification:
Users facing difficulty in viewing content can use the magnification tool at the top of the page to adjust the screen size to their preference.
 

Font Size Adjustment:
Text resizing tools allow users to enlarge (A+) or reduce (A) font size to suit their vision needs.
 

Color Contrast Options:
Users with visual sensitivities can customize page backgrounds and text colors for a more comfortable reading experience.
 

Image Descriptions:
All images include descriptive alternative text, enabling users with visual impairments to understand visual content via screen readers.

 

Keyboard Navigation:
The website can be navigated entirely via keyboard, supporting users with mobility impairments.


Sign Language Translation:
Key pages and services offer sign language translation to support users with hearing challenges.


Speech Recognition:
Voice interaction features allow users to access services using spoken commands—particularly helpful for users with mobility or cognitive challenges.


Accessible Digital Forms:
Ministry forms are compatible with assistive technologies, ensuring ease of use for all users.


Captions and Subtitles:
Videos include captions and subtitles, enabling users with hearing impairments to fully engage with audiovisual content.


Multilingual Support:
The Ministry’s digital platforms support multiple languages, including sign language, to extend access to a wider audience.
