The Ministry of Community Development participated in the "Regional Preparatory Conference for the Global Disability Summit" held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in preparation for the upcoming summit, scheduled to take place in April 2025 in Germany. The conference provided a platform for the Ministry to highlight its efforts in supporting People of Determination and to exchange experiences and best practices with participating delegations.

The event featured multiple discussion sessions addressing key issues related to the rights of persons with disabilities. During its participation, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to implementing impactful and effective initiatives aimed at empowering People of Determination, enhancing their quality of life, and ensuring their inclusion in all aspects of society.

This participation aligns with the UAE leadership’s vision and the UAE Centennial 2071 goal of fostering a more cohesive society. It also reinforces the government's dedication to preparing and empowering People of Determination to actively contribute to national development, in line with the National Policy for Empowering People of Determination, ensuring a dignified life for them and their families.

The conference aimed to facilitate knowledge-sharing and collaboration to improve the well-being of persons with disabilities across all areas of life. It also sought to promote strong and effective commitments ahead of the 2025 Global Disability Summit in Berlin, which is co-organized by Jordan, Germany, and the International Disability Alliance (IDA). The summit will serve as a platform to mobilize global support for disability inclusion and drive the implementation of impactful commitments.

The Global Disability Summit is a unique international mechanism dedicated to improving the lives of persons with disabilities by fostering global, regional, and local collaboration on inclusive development. The Federal Republic of Germany, Jordan, and the International Disability Alliance (IDA) will co-host the summit in Berlin on April 2-3, 2025.
