Aligning with its Efforts to Promote Awareness and Compliance Ministry of Community Empowerment Hosts “Obligations of the Non-Profit Organisations” Workshop

The Ministry of Community Empowerment has organized an introductory workshop for non-profit organisations’ members titled “Obligations of the Non-Profit Organisations”. This workshop aligns with the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of compliance with laws and regulations, including The Federal Decree by Law No. (50) of 2023 Concerning the Regulations of Public Welfare Association and its Executive Regulations, and The Federal Law No. (3) of 2021 on the Regulation of Fundraising and its Executive Regulations. The ministry aims at ensuring the Non-Profit Organisations are fully prepared for routine field inspections.
The workshop targeted the representatives of Non-Profit Organisations and brought together 142 participants from all emirates. It covered several key topics, including administrative compliance, financial compliance, obligations of entities licensed to collect donations, and obligations of entities authorized to collect donations.
The sessions emphasized enhancing legal awareness among the Non-Profit Organisations’ leaders, highlighting the relevant regulatory frameworks and the importance of transparency. The workshop also underscored standards that ensure trust, integrity, accountability, quality, and compliance.
The workshop held discussions on the upcoming requirements to strengthen the Non-Profit Organisations’ ability to create meaningful social impact. The event also provided a platform for attendees to share their perspectives and inquiries and discuss ways of fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange to achieve the highest standards of compliance and governance in the sector.
This workshop reflects the ministry’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Non-Profit Organisations, enhancing their understanding of the latest legislative and regulatory requirements.
The Ministry’s focus on Non-Profit Organisations is rooted in its strategy built on three key pillars, one of which is to amplify the third sector’s impact on achieving national priorities through an integrated framework ensuring these organisations are efficiently regulated, licensed, and managed to serve all members of society.
